What is Peanut Butter?

The name itself pretty much speaks for itself: The spread known as “peanut butter” is made from peanuts. Dry-roasted peanuts are ground to make peanut butter. In the past, peanut butter included extra ingredients to extend shelf life and ensure proper mixing of all ingredients. Of course, it’s simple to find peanut butter that hasn’t had any extra sugar, preservatives, or emulsifiers added.

However, making your own peanut butter is the best option. Only peanuts are used in its preparation, with the occasional addition of salt for flavour or, if you prefer it sweet, any natural sweetener!

How to Make Peanut Butter?

Making homemade peanut butter in a food processor only takes five minutes and is very simple. So easy and enjoyable! Without a doubt, it is better than store-bought.

Ingredients: Just peanuts!

Recipe:

  1. Add roasted peanuts without salt to a food processor. When I can, I try to buy organic products.
  2. When the peanut butter resembles a thick paste, turn on the food processor and let it run for a few minutes.
  3. As soon as the peanut butter is smooth and creamy, add salt and let it sit for another minute or so.
  4. Place in a refrigerator (or another cool, dry place) in an airtight container. Enjoy!

Some Tips and Tricks

There are a few helpful hints to keep in mind when learning how to make peanut butter, even though it would be very difficult to mess up this recipe.

  • Use roasted peanuts as opposed to raw ones. Butter made from roasted peanuts is smooth and creamy and has a deeper, richer flavour. I prefer to purchase them already roasted, but you can also roast them yourself.
  • If you must roast the peanuts, spread them out on a baking sheet with a rim and roast them for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • If you can, buy organic peanuts. Finding organic peanuts can be difficult, but when I do, I always buy them. This guarantees nut butter of excellent quality.
  • There may not be much oil in all peanuts. If the peanut butter is too dry, you can add a tablespoon or two of any flavourless oil or peanut oil.
  • When grinding, you can if necessary add honey, jaggery, or any other healthy sweetener.
  • For two to three days, peanut butter can be stored at room temperature. Look to see if it’s starting to mould; it depends on the humidity in your area.
  • For 1-2 weeks, peanut butter can be stored in the refrigerator.

How to Use Peanut Butter?

Kids and adults alike love eating breakfast with peanut butter. Starting your day with a healthy protein diet and the irresistible taste of peanut butter will undoubtedly put you in a good mood. Peanut butter is a great way to stack up the nutrients that keep you energised throughout the day.

Spreading peanut butter on bread and eating it is one way to use it. Additionally, you can use it to make a variety of milkshakes, desserts, cookies, cupcakes, ice cream, and jellies. Some individuals only consume a spoonful of peanut butter. For a different flavour, you can also twist regular biscuits in peanut butter.
