The Aldigesic Tablet- Uses, Side Effects And its Composition

The drug ALDIGESIC P TABLET is a member of the class of drugs referred to as “non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs”.

The medicine treats multiple conditions like Ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, menstrual pain, mild migraines, headaches, and muscle, joint, and tooth pain.

You should not take the Aldigesic Tablet on an empty stomach. It should be swallowed whole with liquid, preferably after meals, as this helps to prevent any potential gastric irritation the medication might cause. Take it at about the same time each day to make it easier for you to remember.

Uses of ALDIGESIC P TABLET

Aldigesic P Tablet is used to relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation. It contains paracetamol, which is less irritating to the stomach than other painkillers. As a result, patients who are allergic to aspirin, at risk for gastroenteritis, or who may develop ulcers can tolerate this drug. Additionally, it lowers fever brought on by pain or swelling.

Below are a few conditions where Aldigesic helps in reducing pain and inflammation:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis: RA is a condition in which your body’s immune system attacks the lining of small joints. It might also have an impact on other body parts.
  • Osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis is a condition in which the pliable tissue at the ends of your bones wears out, causing friction. Pain, stiffness, and swelling result from this.
  • Ankylosing Spondylitis: This form of arthritis primarily affects the spine and results in the fusion of the small spinal bones. This causes swelling, pain, deformity, and a reduction in your spine’s flexibility.
  • Mild to Moderate Pain: Aldigesic P Tablet is used to treat conditions like back pain, ear pain, throat pain, tooth pain, and muscle injury by reducing pain and swelling.
  • Dysmenorrhoea: Dysmenorrhoea, also known as painful periods, is a cramp or pain that you experience just before and during your period that is sharp and aching in nature. The pain is typically not too bad, but for some women, it can be very bad.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Aldigesic P Tablet contains the following two medications:

  • Aceclofenac: pain reducer
  • Paracetamol: fever reducer

These medications function by inhibiting the chemical messengers that cause pain, fever, and inflammation. Aceclofenac works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers like prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation. The analgesic and antipyretic (fever reducer) properties of paracetamol help it to lessen mild pain and perhaps even fever.

Precautions and Warnings

  • Aldigesic P overdoses may result in liver damage or allergic reactions like swelling of the mouth, face, or throat, breathing difficulties, rashes on the skin, or itching.
  • The use of paracetamol is linked to the majority of cases of liver damage.
  • If you have asthma, allergies to painkillers, heart, kidney, or liver disease, avoid taking Aldigesic P.
  • Aldigesic P should not be taken by women who are pregnant or nursing because it may harm the unborn child.
  • Aldigesic P Tablet contains paracetamol, which when consumed in high doses can harm the liver. It is best to avoid using alcohol concurrently because it makes liver toxicity worse.
  • Some people may experience sleepiness or vertigo after taking Aldigesic P Tablet. After taking this medication, refrain from operating heavy machinery or operating vehicles.
  • Children should not take Aldigesic P.
  • Liver damage occurs when Aldigesic P Tablet is used excessively, whether on purpose or accidentally. As directed by your doctor or chemist, take this medication. If you suspect an overdose, get emergency medical help.
  • If you have anaemia, you should use Aldigesic P Tablet with caution due to the increased risk of your condition getting worse. Depending on your clinical condition, appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required.
  • Aldigesic P Tablet may increase the risk of bleeding by delaying the time at which blood clots. If you have a bleeding or clotting disorder like haemophilia, a vitamin K deficiency, or hypoprothrombinemia, use it with caution.
